Hey There,
Don’t we all love Navy and Camouflage pattern, there’s no denying how much impact the military has had on fashion. Staple pieces in every women and man’s wardrobe operates with a battle-tested reliability, thus making certain items quite timeless. In the street wear sector, camouflage has undoubtedly seen pattern resurgence on everything from traditional cargo pants to footwear. Here at TSS, I m back with one of my favorite patterns CAMO in Pattern & Style and Lets get to know the history about this pattern with some style tips.
This is a list of military clothing camouflage patterns used for battledress. Military camouflage is the use of camouflage by a military force to protect personnel and equipment from observation by enemy forces. Textile patterns for uniforms have multiple functions, including camouflage, identifying friend from foe, and esprit de corps
The list is organized by pattern; only patterned textiles are shown. It includes current and past issue patterns, with dates; users may include armed, paramilitary, police, firefighting, search and rescue, counter-insurgency/counter-terrorism and other security forces and emergency services.
The Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP), also referred to unofficially as ACUPAT (Army Combat Uniform Pattern) or Digital Camouflage (digicam), is a digital military camouflage pattern formerly used in the United States Army’s Army Combat Uniform. The pattern was chosen after several laboratory and field tests that occurred from 2003 to 2004, although it has been established that UCP may well have been adopted without field testing against other patterns. Its pixelated pattern is a modification of the United States Marine Corps’ MARPAT camouflage pattern which is similar to the Canadian CADPAT scheme.
The word camouflage is said to have originated from the Parisian slang term camoufler (meaning “to disguise”) after the French army began employing artists to paint their artillery and observation posts in the same patterns as the forest during World War One. Since that time, military organizations around the globe have invented hundreds of different camo patterns to give their troops a tactical advantage.
Camo gradually folded into civilian dress when Vietnam veterans wore their military fatigues back home protesting the war. By the late 80s, everyone from Tommy Hilfiger to Yves Saint Laurent was integrating some form of camouflage into their lines.
The explicit military purpose of camouflage may be to blend in but in fashion it’s the exact opposite.Thefractal greens, browns, and greys were edgy and the chaotic pattern that disappeared on the battlefield couldn’t stand out louder in the urban jungle. While most company copy simply describes their fabrics as “camo” it’s anything but a standard design and comes in all sizes, shapes, and colors.
The fashion blogger and street style pack are dusting off their cute camo pieces and reinventing them, resulting in outfit inspiration that will last you all season. There’s a lot to like about the trend: A camo jacket adds a tough-girl touch to flirty dresses, while camo trainers are a cool departure from classic sneakers. Even the most traditionally feminine styles—like clutches, heels, or skirts—look cooler when given the camo print treatment.
