As by now you guys must have had a brief idea about Dungaree in my recent article ‘SHOP D LOOK’. There is more know about this style, so let me get you more educated about the style.

History Dungarees were discovered in India, was mentioned for the first time in the 17th century. It was worn by impoverished people in what was then a region of Bombay (Mumbai) India a dockside village called Dongri. Hindi name of this cloth was “dungri”.

Difference between dungaree and suspendersDungaree is a garment consisting of trousers with a bib held up by straps over the shoulders, made of calico, denim, or a similar material and worn as casual or working clothes. They are a kind of coarse Indian calico.

A suspender has an elastic strap attached to a belt or garter, fastened to the top of a stocking to hold it up. Suspender has a pair of braces for holding up trousers.

Dungarees are back again and are surely here to stay for a long time. Choose the one which best suits your personal style and don’t be afraid to experiment with it and make it even more special.
